Description

As a Pillars Parents Team Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the development of the Pillars Parents program. Parenting can be one of the most rewarding and most challenging experience people face. We know that developing healthy strategies in parenting can positively impact how the parent and child navigate the inevitable challenges they’ll face. From peri and postpartum depression to managing an empty nest, we want to walk alongside parents to help them thrive as parents. The development of this program may include the creation of support and skills groups for parents, the development of lessons parents can have access to and working towards developing your (and in turn Pillars) expertise in working with our Pillars Parents.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of your assigned clinical supervisor and our Valpo Director and Associate Director, the Pillars Parents Team Specialist is entrusted with the following responsibilities:

  • Providing evidence-based mental health counseling and psychotherapy tailored specifically for parents and children, with the ability to adjust your therapeutic approach to meet individual needs of clients.
  • Identifying culturally appropriate treatment modalities to address the diverse experiences and individual aspects of the client’s situation.
  • Collaborating with clients to establish therapeutic goals and develop personalized treatment plans aimed at fostering resilience and growth.
  • Empowering clients through strength-based approaches, equipping them with resources and strategies to enhance coping skills and gain insight.
  • Assisting in the development of the Pillars Parents Program as we work towards launching our program early 2025. This will include developing appropriate program groups, aiding in the development of parent skills building content, and supporting with the creation/adjustments of the program structure.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external community organizations to enhance support services for parents and their children, ensuring comprehensive care and resources.
  • Proactively seek new collaborations and strengthen existing relationships to increase the reach and effectiveness of the Pillars Parents Program, allowing us to support a broader spectrum of parental needs.

The intention of the Pillars Parents Program is to better support parents and meet the needs within our community for children needing services. Our hope is that in providing effective support for parents, they are able to maintain their own mental and emotional health, improve parent-child interactions, and enhance their confidence to handle parenting challenges.   

Qualifications

In order to be an approved Pillars Provider, we will need you to possess the following:

  • Valid mental health licensure LCSW, LSW, LMHC, LMHC-A, LMFT, LMFT-A, LCAC, LCAC-A, LPCC, Clinical Psychology PsyD/PhD, HSPP, or other
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI number)
  • Completed Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare CAQH application
  • Individual professional malpractice liability insurance policy ($1mil/$3mil)
