Education

Purdue University Northwest
Degree:
MS in Marriage and Family Counseling
Nick is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapy Associate and graduate from Purdue University Northwest, where he received his M.S. in Couple & Family Therapy. His therapy process is guided by a belief that every person brings with them an exceptional set of strengths, insights, and wisdom into the therapy space. Drawing from his training in systemic family therapy, Nick believes that within every person is an extraordinary set of lived experiences that have shaped the extraordinary person they are today, and that each person’s unique journey is worth understanding, celebrating, and tapping into as a driving force for creating long-lasting, meaningful change.
As a systemic clinician, Nick specializes in working with individuals, couples, families, and friends who are experiencing a variety of behavioral, relational, and emotional problems. His approach pulls from both Contextual and Experiential theories of systemic therapy, which he practices through the lenses of trauma-informed, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming, and culturally-sensitive therapeutic practice. Nick also has specific clinical experience and interest in working with older adults and aging populations, as well as with those who are struggling with grief or other forms of distress that accompany the death of a loved one, or a person’s own end-of-life and dying processes.
It is Nick’s belief that, whether we are facing adversity or just hoping to better understand ourselves and our experiences, therapy – as a resource – should give us that place where we can reconnect with our extraordinary selves and openly explore new ways to overcome life’s equally extraordinary circumstances. To join with those seeking growth and peace during difficult times, exciting times, or any times in-between, is a privilege that Nick appreciates immensely as a therapist. He looks forward to walking alongside you on your path toward wellness, understanding, and empowerment!
