Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling

I have been working with clients in the mental health field for the past 5 years. I received my bachelor’s degree from Purdue Northwest in Psychology and recently completed my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling through Walden University this Spring. In the past I have worked with a variety of clients from ages 4 to adults. As I start my career at Pillars I want my clients to know that I will provide a safe and comfortable environment for them to share their stores and experiences. As a therapist I work hard to build trust/rapport with my clients so they feel comfortable enough to work through experiences and goals they want to achieve.

I have deep compassion for meeting clients where they at to get where they want to go with their skill building. Working with children of different age groups for the past 5 years has taught me skills like having patience and grace. I will continue to utilize these skills in this adventure to helping the children/adolescents I will work with. I have used different evidence based practices as a skills coach and will continue to utilize them as a LMHC. Evidence based-practices I have used are Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Zones of Regulation, DBT, and person-centered therapy. Utilizing these different practices can help teach children/adolescents to identify negative thought patterns and challenge them.

Whether you are wanting to work on skills to cope through trauma or learn skills to regulate emotions to support on your journey to healing.
