Ms. Brewer is a graduate of Valparaiso University where she received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Ms. Brewer has clinical experience in a range of different settings and with varied populations, including a treatment center for autism and neurodevelopmental disorders, a university counseling center, and a residential treatment facility for adolescents. She integrates techniques and approaches, mainly drawing from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance-Commitment Therapy. She often utilizes strengths-based and mindfulness-based approaches.
Ms. Brewer believes in creating a safe and affirming space to process your experiences while developing a sense of empowerment and hope. Ms. Brewer believes that different stages of life come with different needs, and that self-improvement is a lifelong process. She says “I truly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. Having a neutral person with an outside perspective who meets you where you’re at can be such a powerful thing.”
