Pillars 5K/2K Run/Walk for Hope

Get ready to groove and move for a far-out cause as we come together to shine our light and spread hope for children battling cancer!

Pillars of Wellness is proud to host its fourth annual 5K/2K Run/Walk, benefiting Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids (NICK). As a provider of mental health and wellness services, we know that healing goes beyond the physical — it’s about mental and emotional strength, resilience, and the power of community.

This year’s theme, “Here Comes the Sun,” reflects the hope we strive to bring not only to children battling cancer but also to their families, caregivers, and all those facing life’s challenges. Movement, connection, and positivity play a crucial role in overall well-being, and this event is a chance to come together, support one another, and spread warmth where it’s needed most.

Event Details:

🗓️Date: Saturday, September 27, 2025

📍Location: Lake County Fairgrounds, Crown Point, IN

⏰Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Race Options:

5K Run: Timed event for competitive runners
2K Walk: Perfect for all ages and fitness levels

Registration:

Early Bird Registration: $35 per participant available until September 10, 2025 (includes a race-day t-shirt featuring our sunshine theme!)
Race Day Registration: Feel free register between 7:30-8:30 a.m. on race day. $40 per participant (t-shirt not guaranteed)

Racer Packet Pickup:

Participants can pick up their race packets on Friday, September 26, between 5:30-7 p.m. (or the day of from 7:30-8:30 a.m.) at shelter #2 at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

What to Bring/Expect:

☀️Wear yellow or gold (and your biggest smile) to shine for childhood cancer awareness! Bonus points for rocking tie-dye, flower crowns, or anything that gives 60’s vibes.

☀️ Sunshine Stations along the racecourse with inspiring messages of hope.

☀️ Wall of Hope where participants can spread the love and write uplifting notes to kids fighting cancer.

Awards:

Custom medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
